Prosecco rosé? No, you will only find Prosecco among the roses here …

February 2021

Among the wines of Terre Boscaratto you will never find Prosecco Rosè. We explain why !!!

1) Prosecco rosè can now only be produced in the DOC area of Prosecco. The Rosè type is not allowed in the DOCG specification.
This creates even more confusion in the customer who is already struggling to understand the differences between a Glera-based Prosecco DOC and a Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Superiore.

2) The concept of historicity. Pinot Noir (grape variety that must be used together with Glera to give the pink note) which is defined as historic in the area is something rather risky.

3) The underlying logic in creating a product that satisfies a market need. It is a purely industrial concept that will certainly lead to immediate benefits, but with what foresight? A wine not tied to traditions, culture and values that should be its cornerstones, what future and impact can it have on the denomination?
